- Enroll: pick a 90-hour package (Module 1 + Module 2, 45 hrs each) and start your study plan.
- Complete hours: finish coursework — self-paced students can finish in as little as 2 weeks; Zoom classes typically take 3–6 weeks.
- Create IREC account: register at the Idaho Real Estate Commission to track your fingerprint status, license history, and education records.
- Get fingerprinted: schedule through PearsonVue. Electronic prints (Boise, Pocatello, Spokane Valley) process in 1–4 weeks; hard card up to 12 weeks. Prints are valid for 6 months.
- Schedule & pass the exam: register with PearsonVue. The exam has 80 national + 40 Idaho questions — you need 70% on each section. Bring 2 forms of ID.
- Apply for your license: submit your application online through the DOPL portal. The license fee is $135. You'll need course certificates, exam scores, fingerprint approval, and proof of education/legal presence.
- Choose a broker & get E&O insurance: your license starts as inactive. Select a brokerage and obtain Errors & Omissions insurance to activate it.
