What every approved Idaho school has to cover

The Commission sets the course content, so every approved school teaches the same material.

90 hours, two modules

Module 1 and Module 2, 45 hours each. Each ends with a final exam you pass with 70% or higher.

Approved learning formats

A classroom, live remote classes (such as Zoom), or self-paced online study.

Full attendance for scheduled classes

Classroom and live remote classes require 100% attendance. Self-paced courses track your study time instead.

3 years for courses, 6 months for fingerprints

Course hours count toward your license for 3 years, but fingerprint results expire after 6 months. Finish the course first, then book fingerprints and your exam.

How to look up an Idaho real estate school on DOPL

DOPL (the Idaho Division of Occupational and Professional Licenses) runs the Real Estate Commission's license records. No login needed.

  1. Open DOPL Online Services

    Go to DOPL's public license search.

  2. Choose Search for Individual Licenses

    It's under Public Searches.

  3. Filter the search

    Set Board to Real Estate Commission and License Type to Real Estate Provider Certification License.

  4. Search and check

    Enter the school's name (part of it works). Look for status Active and a provider number that matches our table.

A license alone doesn't mean pre-license. The same license covers continuing-education providers, so check the school offers the 90-hour course. Every school in our table does.

The Idaho Real Estate Commission doesn't publish pass rates by school. Any rate you see comes from the school or provider itself.

Is there an official list of approved Idaho real estate schools?
There's no single list page. Search DOPL Online Services (Search for Individual Licenses) for the school's name: approved schools hold an active Real Estate Provider Certification License. See our step-by-step lookup instructions. DOPL's older "Education Lookup" link no longer loads. A provider license also covers continuing-education providers, so check that a school offers the 90-hour pre-license course; every school in our table does.
How many hours are required for the Idaho real estate pre-license course?
90 hours: Module 1 (45 hours) and Module 2 (45 hours), completed within the 3 years before you apply. The course hours are the same at every approved school (DOPL).
Is an online real estate course valid in Idaho?
Yes. The Commission allows classroom courses, live remote delivery (such as Zoom), and self-paced online study, as long as the course is approved.
Where can I take in-person real estate classes in Idaho?
In Boise: 208 Real Estate School, Real Estate Academy of Idaho (hybrid) and The Idaho Real Estate School. In Idaho Falls: East Idaho Real Estate School and Idaho Falls Real Estate School. In North Idaho: North Idaho College (Post Falls) and Real Estate Academy of Idaho (Coeur d'Alene).
What's the cheapest way to complete the 90 hours?
As of October 29, 2026, the lowest listed price we found for both modules was The Idaho Real Estate School at $599 (discounted package). Idaho Online Real Estate Academy's Courses Only package lists at $719 and is $431.40 today. If you qualify, Idaho LAUNCH can cut tuition by up to 80%.
Do all Idaho schools teach the same thing?
The required content (Module 1 and Module 2) is set by the Commission. The differences are format, instructor access, schedule, exam prep and extras.
Do Idaho real estate schools publish pass rates?
The Commission doesn't publish pass rates by school. Some schools and providers publish their own, so ask whether a rate covers that school's own Idaho students or is a national average, whether it's first attempt or any attempt, and for what period.
I'm a real estate agent licensed in another state. Do I need all 90 hours?
Usually not. Idaho has no real estate license reciprocity, but active licensed real estate agents from other states can request a waiver of the 90 hours and the national exam. You still pass the Idaho state portion. See our out-of-state agents guide.

How we built this comparison

  • We pulled DOPL's full list of active education providers on October 29, 2026: Search for a Bulk List of Licenses, Real Estate Commission, Real Estate Provider Certification License, status Active, with no location filters. It returned 85 active providers.
  • Name searches alone miss providers (for example, searching “Idaho”, “real” or “the” skips names like McKissock or WebCE), so we worked from the full list.
  • We visited each provider's website to see whether it offers Idaho's 90-hour salesperson pre-license course, continuing education only, or other services.
  • We left out providers that only offer continuing education or other training, aren't currently offering pre-license classes, or don't have an active website. Real Estate Academy of Idaho's Boise and North Idaho locations are listed as one school. Schools that sell The CE Shop's online course through their own storefront are listed under Online, with The CE Shop's list price.
  • We took prices and formats from each school's own site on the same date. Idaho Online Real Estate Academy's price follows The CE Shop's current promo code and updates automatically each day.
  • Schools are listed alphabetically by default, including schools that compete directly with us. Filters and sorting are yours to choose; nothing is ranked.
