Adult FAQ โ€” Idaho LAUNCH Through IdahoWorks

Is there a deadline for adults to apply?
No fixed annual deadline. Unlike the student pathway, adult funding through IdahoWorks is generally available year-round. Funding is still subject to available program dollars and eligibility review, so applying sooner is usually better.
Do I need to be unemployed to qualify?
No. You do not need to be unemployed. Idaho LAUNCH through IdahoWorks can support working-age Idaho residents who meet program rules, whether employed, between jobs, or changing careers.
What happens after I create my IdahoWorks account?
After you register, an Idaho Department of Labor representative may contact you (phone and/or email) to confirm interest and guide next steps, including required forms and Idaho LAUNCH application steps. Responding quickly helps avoid delays.
What is the e-contract I have to sign?
The e-contract is a standard agreement stating you intend to use your training in Idaho and work in Idaho for at least 1 year after program completion. It's not a loan and does not require repayment of borrowed tuition funds.
How long does the approval process take?
Many applicants complete the process in about 2โ€“3 weeks, but timing can vary based on caseload, responsiveness, and completion of each required step.
Why is the adult cap $3,500 while students get $8,000?
The State of Idaho sets different caps for different pathways. For this course, both caps still cover 80% of tuition: 80% of $778 is $622.4, leaving about $155 out of pocket.
Why canโ€™t I enroll and pay before Iโ€™m approved?
Idaho LAUNCH funding must be approved before funded enrollment is processed. Thatโ€™s why we collect interest first and send your direct enrollment/payment link after approval is confirmed.
What if Iโ€™m not approved โ€” can I still take the class?
Absolutely. You can enroll at list price at any time without waiting for funding. This is the fastest way to get started.
What else do I need to do after the course to get licensed?
After completing your 90 hours of pre-licensing education, you still need to complete fingerprinting, pass the state and national exams through Pearson VUE (70%+ on both), apply for your license through the Idaho Real Estate Commission (DOPL), and join a brokerage with active E&O coverage. These licensing-related costs are separate from Idaho LAUNCH tuition funding. See our licensing process guide for current-step details.
Do I need any prior education or experience?
No real estate experience is required. You do need a high school diploma or GED and legal presence documentation required for Idaho licensing. No college degree is required.
